Supply-chain disruption research
Behavioral operations management research
Watchtower — a supply-chain disruption-response game.
Watchtower is the experimental task used in Vos & Shi (Study 3) for the paper “Out of Sight, Out of Mind: How Overprecision and Psychological Distance Shape Supply Chain Disruption Response.” Participants take the role of an operations manager at a fictional mid-size US manufacturer, monitor monthly risk signals across nine suppliers, and decide how to spend a $100,000 response budget across information-gathering, alternate suppliers, buffer inventory, escalation, and holding the operating budget.
